Resolution 2009-01: Adopted: Blindness Skills Rehabilitation

May 3, 2009

Whereas, the Canadian Federation of the Blind strongly advocate and insist that the British Columbian and Canadian governments recognize blindness rehabilitation as the right of all British Columbian and Canadian residents;

Whereas, this includes the right of the blind person to be fully informed of all available rehabilitation options so to be able to choose the appropriate rehabilitation program wherever it may be located in the world;

Whereas, rehabilitation be publicly funded and tied to individuals rather than be granted to agencies;

Whereas, a system of results-based accountability be instituted.

Therefore, be it resolved that CFB advocate for these important issues of blindness rehabilitation skills training.
