 2007 Convention, "Moving Forward"


THE CANADIAN FEDERATION OF THE BLIND ANNOUNCES DR. MARC MAURER’S VISIT TO
CANADA


Members of the Canadian Federation of the Blind are excited and honoured to welcome Dr. Marc Maurer as our special guest and banquet keynote speaker at our convention on May 4-5, 2007.  Dr. Maurer is a renowned lawyer and President of the National Federation of the Blind in the United States, the largest and most influential movement of the organized blind in the world.


The Canadian Federation of the Blind “Moving Forward” convention will be held in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada at the Traveller’s Inn, City Centre, 1961 Douglas Street (corner of Douglas and Discovery) on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5, 2007.

Convention activities will include:

- Welcome reception for Dr. Marc Maurer on Friday evening, May 4.

- Full-day conference on Saturday, May 5 with topics focusing on:
  employment; independence; Braille; travel with the long white cane; the
  Federation and the organized blind movement.

- White Cane walk on Saturday afternoon, May 5.

- Banquet and keynote address by Dr. Maurer Saturday evening, May 5.


The registration fee is $50 and covers all convention activities, including Saturday’s lunch and banquet.

Room rates are subject to 17.75% taxes and surcharges.
